Since coming here in 1979 our aim has been to produce as much food as we can and to minimise our impact on the environment.

Vegetables and fruit grow in the garden, our delicious eggs are laid by free range hens and we drink milk from our goats. Although we only serve vegetarian or vegan food to guests, we eat our own meat. Guests are served gooseberry, blackcurrant or damson jam made from fruit grown in the garden. All food is home-cooked including our tasty wholemeal bread. When we do buy in food we try to buy fair-trade or organic. Our spring water tastes wonderful.

Guests are welcome to help with feeding the chickens, milking the goats and collecting eggs.

Our house and water are heated in winter by a wood stove. We have recently installed solar panels to supplement this and heat the water during the summer.
